The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) has been enacted by the Parliament of India and has come into force from 15 June, 2005. This Act provides for right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. Consequently, citizens can seek information regarding the activities of the College by submitting a written request with details such as Name, Address, Contact Phone number, Email ID and particulars of the information sought. The reason for seeking information need not be given. The duly signed request may be addressed to the Public Information Officer, Dewan Abdul Gani College, Harirampur, Dakshin Dinajpur along with the required fee of Rs.10/-.
Copies of documents will be charged according to the rate fixed by the State Information Commission, West Bengal.
If the reply is not received on time or if the information is not furnished, an appeal to the First Appellate Authority, University of Gour Banga may be tendered.
